Personal Development – WWE: How to Bounce Back from Adversity like Fin Balor

After this month’s NXT Super Tuesday Event, we saw Fin Balor make history by becoming the 3rd man to ever become a two-time WWE NXT Champion.

For me, Fin Balor has been somewhat of an interesting story. As a wrestler, I’ve always liked this guy as well as his alter-ego.

However, after this recent victory, I thought it was high time to highlight how he was able to bounce back.

Personal Development – Be Aware of Unforeseen Circumstances

When Fin Balor first debuted on Monday Night Raw, it seemed he had really hit the big time. He was main eventing matches and had even defeated Roman Reigns.

Soon Afterwards, he defeated Seth Rollins to become the first ever WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion!

This was his first World Title in WWE and with being its first ever champion, he would be forever etched in history!

However, sometimes life will slap you in the face. In the process of becoming a World Champion, Balor suffered a major shoulder injury that forced him to be out for months.

All the momentum and fanfare that he’d gained soon went straight down the drain.

In the aftermath of this, he was stripped of his title, never getting a chance to defend it, which means that he actually never lost the title.

However, in the midst of this circumstance, he still remained optimistic.

Personal Development – Grind Until You Get Back to Where You Wish to Be

Sometime later, Balor made his return and he went back on the grind to improve himself.

He kept working hard and he finally got a couple rematches for the title that he never lost, but in the end, he lost the matches and never really got a shot at it again.

Sometimes life gives us situations and it’s up to us to decide how we’ll react to it. In Balor’s case he decided keep working hard and focus on achieving greatness.

Later own, he eventually made some noise on the roster going on a pretty good run with the Intercontinental Championship by defeating Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush.

However, this run was short-lived too as a few months later, he lost the title to Bray Wyatt.

In the aftermath of that defeat, he’d take a short hiatus and not appear on television again until making his return to NXT.

Personal Development – Take Advantage Of The Hand That Fate Has Dealt You

Now at the time, I felt this was a huge downgrade because Fin Balor had worked so hard to be on the main roster just to be sent back to NXT.

But Fin Balor has the ultimate “No-Quit” mindset and instead of complaining, he took advantage of the situation and made the most of it.

Now after nearly a year and a half, Fin Balor has made history by becoming just the 3rd man to become a 2-Time NXT Champion. He’s also the first ever former WWE World Title holder to hold the NXT Title after holding a World title.

In our own journey’s to success, we must understand that there will be set backs, but all-in-all its about how we react to them.

If something that is out of your control disrupts your life, try looking at it from a different angle.

This may help your perspective on the situation and it may help you to work harder and come back even stronger than ever!
