Anime Motivation – 3 Life Lessons from Hajime No Ippo

What’s up everyone?!

So I recently started watching Hajime No Ippo and although I don’t watch Boxing much, this anime has me too Hype!!

Between Ippo and Takamura, I always instantly want to start training whenever I start watching the show.

Due to my recent exposure to the anime, I decided to give some lessons learned so far since I started watching.

Anime Motivation – When You’re tired of your life, change it

One of the earliest things we notice from Ippo is that at the beginning of the series, he was always getting bullied.

It was so bad that it was a daily routine every day from school.

Then one day, Ippo was beaten up so bad that he reached his breaking point.

It’s when we hit our breaking point and decide to make a change that we often change the entire course of our lives.

In my opinion, its better for us to reach our breaking point sooner rather than later so we don’t waste precious time in the process of our personal change.

When Ippo decided he didn’t want to be weak anymore, its like the universe aligned for him to meet Takamura and the rest of the gang.

Sometimes we can shift our entire realities when we make a decision, as our energy attracts what we desire or what we focus on.

Anime Motivation – Set a Goal and Grind for it

Once Ippo made up his mind, began to take the proper actions to become stronger.

Each day after school he was in the gym training,

At home after he finished his job with his mom, he would be dreaming and visualizing about his goal.

Heck sometimes, he would sleep or day dream about boxing as well.

The point is, to get really good at something or to achieve an astronomical level of success in your field, sometimes you have to be borderline obsessed with it.

Anime Motivation – Be Disciplined and Continue Progressing

After becoming stronger, Ippo had a new goal which was to once again fight Miata so they could break their tie as they have each won one battle against each other.

Where I’m at in the series, Ippo is in the Junior tournament so Miata was not able to keep his promise.

However, Ippo understood that he also made a promise to each opponent that he defeated and it would be disrespectful to lose at this point so he keeps going.

Even outside of fighting, Ippo maintains a huge level of discipline.

He makes sure he continues to attend class, go to work, train, and even watch film of his opponents.

Always remember that whatever you want to achieve in life, its going to take an exceptional amount of discipline.

Often times motivation will fail us, but its discipline that will set us apart from the rest!
