Music Snapshot – Rap Throwback: That’s How I knew By Nipsey Hussle

So hands down, this is probably my favorite song from Nip. The Mailbox Money mixtape was straight fire from beginning to end and it’s actually the inspiration behind one of my new EPs that may be dropping in the near future.

Judging from the title, I knew that Nip was gonna spit some real truth for us hustlers to learn from and I just wanted to dig in a bit to show some of the major gems in this song that could apply to our daily grind.

Music Snapshot – Rap Throwback: That’s How I knew By Nipsey Hussle

In the first stanza of verse one, Nipsey says

“I seen it, I thought it, I dreamed it,

I said it, I did it, I meant it,

I taste it, I loved it, I need it,

I want it, more of it, I fiend it”

Now this is a powerful line from the verse. Right here, Nipsey is telling us about the power of our thoughts, dreams, visualization, and the law of attraction.

Here, he is boldly proclaiming that the things he saw, he manifested them with our natural super powers.

He also saying that he loves what he’s manifested and he wants more of that awesomeness.

No we all have this ability, but a lot of us don’t really know how to use it for our own selves. Once we master the ability to visualize and attract the things that we desire, we start to operate in a different frequency and give off a different type of vibe or energy.

Another major gem Nipsey drops is in verse 2, when he says

“Yeah, That’s how I knew that i was different though

Rap fast, this a different flow

Different deals gettin’ different dough

Yeah, my life, doin’ different shows

Catch a flight, do my shit, hit a lick and go

Oh, now I got a different goal

‘Cause I reached all my old ones

I be feelin’ like somebody reached out and chose us

I be killin’ life, nigga, we got it rollin”

In this verse he saying that he knows that he’s a different breed than others around him because he’s operating on a different flow and getting new deals while being able to live the life that he dreamed of.

By the context of his lyrics, he feels like he was one of the chosen ones to do what he’s doing.

With that being said, most of us along our journey may feel like we’re outliers or that we just don’t fit in and that’s ok. We have to use this to our advantage and operate in a different flow because we will eventually get to where we envision ourselves being.

This is some powerful stuff and once you truly understand how to use these gems to your advantage, then you can truly begin to create the reality that you’ve always dreamed of.
